CREATING A
MOVE-ON HOME

Safe and affordable housing for young people in London remains extremely limited, leaving many without realistic move-on options. We now have the amazing opportunity to convert a former office building into a Move-On Home for young people who are ready to take their next steps towards independence while continuing to benefit from a supportive community.

This summer, we will transform the building into a home for eight young people, alongside an on-site caretaker flat. Together, we can provide a vital stepping stone from emergency accommodation to independent living, helping young people build confidence, stability, and a sustainable future while staying connected to the support, relationships, and opportunities they need.

Thames Works

The building that will become our Move On Home has a long history and is known as Thames Works. Located in Old Chiswick, close to the River Thames, it was originally a wool warehouse reflecting the area’s connection to riverside trade and local industry. In recent years, it has been used as office space, with its original character still visible in the open-plan layout.

Now ready for a new chapter, it will soon be filled with the lives of young people who need a safe place to move on, within walking distance of our Youth Community Home, which provides emergency and temporary accommodation.

Get involed

We would love you to be part of creating this Move On Home. There are many ways to get involved, including joining one of our practical work days to help prepare the space through clearance, cleaning, painting, and building furniture. Our goal is to raise £150k to make this vision a reality and provide a safe, stable place for young people to take their next step towards independence.

Together, we can transform this building into a home where young people can rebuild their lives and look to the future with hope.
