Who We Are

Shelter Community provides affordable, high‑quality accommodation for young people in a supportive community setting.

Our homes offer stability for young adults affected by the housing crisis, helping them remain in education or training, find employment, and work towards sustainable housing in the future.

We work in partnership with other charities to ensure young people receive the best possible support and can move on to long‑term accommodation when they are ready.

Why We Exist

Every night, young people in London face the harsh reality that there is no safe shelter for them and no one to turn to. Finding accommodation without a supportive community can be overwhelmingly difficult. Many are forced into a disruptive cycle that negatively affects their education, employment, health, and wellbeing.

Shelter Community’s mission is to be a community driven by hope, love, and faith, creating a place of shelter for young people who need it most. Our vision is to create homes where young people can flourish and develop personal and social skills.

We believe we all need a sheltering community during life’s storms, and that some things are best learned in a community setting. By connecting our creativity, talents, and resources, we can protect and transform lives for good.

Shelter Community is a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation), registered with the Charity Commission (charity number 1151910). More information can be found on the Charity Commission website.
